I am the woman on the other side
I am smart, bold, witty and beautiful
But I'm scorned, often I find myself depressed even suicidal at times,
'Why', you ask?
Because I am the woman on the other side
Many see me and envy me,
Many see me and think to themselves, 'I wish I were her'
But do they see my tears at night while I hug my pillow close
Do they hear my sighs, or see the sadness in my eyes..
No they don't
'Why', you ask?
Because I'm the woman on the other side
I strive for perfection
and I dare say I'm close with mock satisfaction
Yet my heart knows the truth
My womb yearns to hide God's most intricate work till nature forces a protrusion that screams 'there's life!'
I long for the warmth of a man's loving arms
A man who will take me as I am, faults and all
A man who will be my Clyde,
While I'll be his Bonnie with pride,
While I'll be his Bonnie with pride,
Filling the rest of my days with another life we will create.
But God must have other plans
'Why', you ask?
Because I am the woman on the other side
I have loved deeply a few 'chosen ones'
Some taught me selflessness
others taught me the secrets to life
and a few showed me the dark side of love
Yet I haven't given up
I am still hopefull that day is coming, when at last I will say
'I AM THE TRIUMPHANT WOMAN ON THE OTHER SIDE!'
